Microwaveable Maava Pedhas

These yummy maava pedhas can be made with the utmost ease in your microwave within 30 minutes!! Give them a try.

Ingredients:

2 cups milk powder
1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz.)
1 tbsp. butter, at room temperature
1/4 tsp. cardamom/elaichi powder
few strings saffron, crushed or whole

Method:

Mix together milk powder, condensed milk and cardamom pdr using a whisker, egg beater or fork. Add butter and whisk again for a min. Stir in the saffron and mix well. Now take this mixture in a microwaveable bowl and microwave this mixture on high for 2 mins, or until it starts boiling/bubbling. Take the bowl out, mix it well, then microwave it again until it bubbles/churns. Repeat this (take out, mix, then microwave again) recipe 3-4 times until the mixture starts to thicken/harden a bit to your liking.
Finally, remove, let cool slightly, so that you can handle it with your hands. Grease your hands with a little ghee, and make small balls of the mixture while its still warm. Flatten slightly as the balls are made to resemble the shape of a "pedha". If you need to decorate these with lines/design, use a toothpick. Set to cool, then store away.

Hello World!

I love cooking! My own cooking. You know what I mean? Well, wait a minute. That's not all.... I mean, I love my wife's cooking... and my mom's too. And my sister cooks really well too. So do some of my friends.

Wait a minute... what am I blabbering about here? This isn't about YOU. It's about ME. Really. :-) So where was I? Oh.. yes. I love to cook. I cook reasonably okay too. My family and friends, who have survived my cooking, can attest to it! In fact, some of them have even gone as far as telling me that I should start a restaurant or something. Err.... no. Not just yet. But how about I just start posting my recipes for now? Where? Right here. Okay? Here goes nothing.....
